The problem
Intervention: An elective university course titled "Violence Against Children and Its Prevention"
Who it was tested with: 81 university students (mostly second-year undergraduates, average age 21.1) at a state university in the Mediterranean region.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Future randomized controlled studies are recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of different educational programs" - the authors point to the lack of a randomised design, and the data compare scores before and after the course in the same group, so the tier is PRE_POST.
No control group, so changes cannot be attributed to the course alone. 19 participants dropped out, the sample is small and from one university, and outcomes are self-reported attitudes rather than behaviour or child outcomes.
