The problem
Intervention: Mindful sharenting behaviors—protective strategies used by parents when sharing children's information online
Who it was tested with: 603 US parents completing an online survey.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"An cross-sectional online survey was conducted with 603 U.S. parents to test a structural equation model examining how threat appraisals, coping appraisals, and privacy concerns influence protective behaviors." The study measures associations between theoretical constructs and protective sharenting behaviors, establishing that privacy concerns predict protective actions across populations.
Cross-sectional design prevents causal inference; survey-based self-report data subject to social desirability bias; findings limited to US context and may not generalize internationally; actual protective behaviors not observed, only reported intentions.
