The problem
Intervention: Structured nutrition counseling focusing on balanced nutrition, complementary feeding, dietary diversity, and hygiene practices
Who it was tested with: 43 mothers and stunted toddlers aged 10-59 months in coastal Kendari, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted among 43 mothers and their stunted toddlers aged 10–59 months in selected coastal communities. Mothers received structured nutrition counseling focusing on balanced nutrition, complementary feeding, dietary diversity, and hygiene." Paired t-tests compared mothers and toddlers before and after counseling, with all three measured outcomes showing significant improvements.
No comparison or control group, so observed changes cannot be definitively attributed to the intervention. Single location (coastal Kendari) limits generalizability. No follow-up period reported to assess sustainability of changes.
