The problem
Intervention: Community-led, gender-transformative programming responsive to adolescent girls' diverse risks, needs and priorities in food-insecure settings
Who it was tested with: Adolescent girls, parents, and community members in Chiredzi, Zimbabwe experiencing food insecurity.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Mixed methods, including participant-led storytelling via SenseMaker® and key informant interviews, were employed to examine the relationship between food insecurity and child marriage." The study documents community perspectives and contextual factors rather than evaluating the effectiveness of a specific implemented intervention, making it a practitioner-level evidence source documenting the problem and recommended programming approach.
This is an exploratory study examining associations and contextual factors rather than testing an intervention outcome. No comparison group or outcome measurement was used; findings are based on qualitative accounts and participant interpretations of their own stories.
