The problem
Intervention: Cross-sectional survey assessing eight aspects of routine immunization services including staff service attitude, vaccine information provision, vaccination safety, clinic environment, queuing time, waiting time, appointment availability, and accessibility
Who it was tested with: 3,099 guardians of children aged 0-6 years attending 180 vaccination clinics across 10 provinces in China.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"During December 2022 to March 2023, we conducted a cross-sectional, questionnaire-based satisfaction survey of guardians of 0-6-y-old children attending any of 180 vaccination clinics in 10 provinces selected through a multi-stage stratified random sampling method." This is a descriptive cross-sectional survey of guardians' experiences with immunization services that identifies service factors associated with satisfaction levels, providing baseline evidence on how to improve vaccination program quality.
Cross-sectional design cannot determine causation. Study measures guardian perceptions rather than objective service quality. Conducted post-pandemic in specific Chinese provinces, which may limit generalizability.
