The problem
Intervention: Implementation of parenting patterns based on the Nurturing Care Framework approach, which includes health care, adequate nutrition, responsive care, early learning opportunities, and safety and security
Who it was tested with: 214 toddlers aged 24-59 months in the Pagambiran Public Health Center work area in Padang, Indonesia.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"This study was analytical with a cross-sectional design, conducted from June 2024 to January 2025. Sampling used stratified random sampling and simple random sampling, totaling 214 toddlers aged 24-59 months. Data collection used a questionnaire and was analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square), and multivariate (multiple logistic regression with the backward elimination method)." This describes an observational cross-sectional study that identifies associations between parenting framework components and stunting rather than testing an intervention's effectiveness.
Cross-sectional design cannot establish causation. Single health center location limits generalizability. The study measures association only, not intervention effectiveness or behavioral change outcomes.
