The problem
Intervention: One-session telehealth psychoeducational program providing information about cognitive and psychological late effects of pediatric cancer, educational supports and resources, and neuropsychological evaluations
Who it was tested with: Twenty-three parents (including three parent dyads) of children with pediatric cancer.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Parents completed questionnaires via REDCap, both before and after the intervention. Program evaluation included information about parent-reported satisfaction with the program and initial outcomes (e.g., parent-reported perceived increases in knowledge)." The study measured the same participants before and after the intervention using questionnaires, which is the pre-post design, but lacks a comparison group and validation of actual outcomes.
Feasibility and acceptability study only; no measurement of actual changes in parent knowledge or child outcomes; no control group; small sample size; only measured parent-reported satisfaction and perceived knowledge increase, not validated outcomes
