The problem
Intervention: Integration of nutrition-specific health interventions with nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions delivered jointly by health and agriculture extension workers at community level, including farm gardening and cooking demonstrations
Who it was tested with: Households with children under two years of age in agrarian areas of rural Ethiopia; 28 key informants interviewed (health and agriculture extension workers and mothers).
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A qualitative study was conducted in agrarian areas of Ethiopia following the completion of a multi-sectoral program that integrated health and agriculture interventions" with "28 key informant interviews conducted with health- and agriculture-extension workers and mothers" using "framework analysis approach." The design captures practitioner experience and lessons learned rather than measuring outcomes through controlled comparison.
Qualitative design with no comparison group or quantitative outcome measures; relies on perceptions of extension workers and mothers rather than objective nutritional data; no baseline or follow-up measurements reported; challenges in implementation may have limited actual effectiveness
