The problem
Intervention: Task-shifting delivery of an evidence-based family strengthening intervention by trained community health workers and parent peers
Who it was tested with: 24 community health workers and parent peers (facilitators) in Uganda delivering interventions to families with children and adolescents.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 24 facilitators... Interviews explored their decision to participate in the program; experiences with the training; and experiences with intervention delivery." The study assessed acceptability and feasibility of task-shifting through qualitative description of provider experiences within a larger trial, but does not directly evaluate the intervention's impact on children's mental health outcomes.
This is a qualitative study of facilitator experiences only, with no measurement of actual intervention effectiveness or child mental health outcomes. The study does not include comparison groups or control for potential selection bias in facilitator recruitment.
