The problem
Intervention: Implementation of Sisom, a digital interactive assessment and communication tool that enables children aged 6-12 to express their needs and concerns, with results communicated via printed reports to guide professional-child-parent dialogue
Who it was tested with: 46 children aged 6-13 years in pediatric care settings in Sweden.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"A process evaluation design was used to study the implementation of Sisom at 4 pediatric care centers in Sweden. An extensive amount of qualitative and quantitative data was collected before, during, and after the intervention through self-report checklists, memos, and interviews with professionals." The study measured implementation processes and barriers/enablers rather than direct child outcomes, making it a pre-post design focused on implementation assessment.
Study design was process evaluation without a comparison group or direct outcome measurement. Findings reflect professional perspectives rather than validated measurement of children's participation or health outcomes. Limited to Swedish context with small sample size.
