The problem
Intervention: Curriculum-integrated sun safety workshops delivered within Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education (PDHPE) classes
Who it was tested with: High school girls aged 13-15 in one independent secondary school in Australia.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Sun protection knowledge, attitudes toward tanning, and self-reported protective behaviours were assessed via surveys administered pre-intervention, immediately post-intervention, and five months later." The study used a before-after design measuring the same group at three time points without a control group, constituting a PRE_POST evidence tier.
Single-site design in one girls' school limits generalisability; self-reported behavioural outcomes; no comparison group to determine if changes were intervention-specific; unclear whether findings extend to co-educational or public school settings
