The problem
Intervention: Movement and song activities used as a gross motor stimulation strategy in kindergarten
Who it was tested with: 16 children aged 5–6 years in Group B3 at TK Negeri 5 Tibang, Banda Aceh, Indonesia, selected by purposive sampling.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed." This measures one group before and after with no comparison group, so it is PRE_POST rather than experimental.
Very small purposive sample from a single class, no control group, no follow-up, and the intervention duration and statistical values are not stated in the abstract. Despite the title calling it experimental, the design cannot rule out maturation or other influences.
