The problem
Intervention: Implementation of child protection policies and programs in schools, and school-initiated intervention activities
Who it was tested with: Students in grade school and secondary school in the First District of Camarines Sur, Philippines.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"The descriptive-evaluative-comparative research method was used to determine the programs for the prevention of violence against children in selected schools." This is a descriptive evaluation of policy implementation and abuse prevalence without a comparison group or rigorous outcome measurement, representing practitioner-level evidence of what schools are doing and what problems exist.
The study does not provide quantitative data on the prevalence or severity of abuse cases. It does not measure the effectiveness of the intervention programs, only their presence. The design is evaluative rather than experimental, so causality cannot be established.
