The problem
Intervention: A longitudinal birth cohort study tracking vaccination coverage and timing in children from migrating versus non-migrating families, with planned intensified verification and catch-up efforts at preschool enrollment
Who it was tested with: Birth cohorts in Beijing, China, 2021-2025, including children from internally migrating families and non-migrating families.
The same group is measured before the intervention and again afterwards, with a baseline and an endline and sometimes a midline. Change is visible, but other causes cannot be ruled out.
"Migration across provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) drives progressively widening coverage disparities while contributing to delayed vaccination and missed catch-up opportunities within the National Immunization Program (NIP) during the first three years of life in China." The study measures vaccination coverage outcomes in relation to migration status as a longitudinal cohort over time.
This appears to be a study protocol or interim report; detailed quantitative results on the magnitude of disparities and long-term outcomes are not provided. The effectiveness of the recommended interventions has not yet been evaluated.
