The problem
Intervention: S-FAME: a family-centered, low-threshold intervention adapted from the FAME model and delivered by trained municipal social services staff, retaining selected family-centered principles while adapting content, referral pathways, risk management, and implementation procedures for preventive services
Who it was tested with: Families with children aged 10-14 years seeking municipal social services support because of digital media use or related family conflict in Swedish municipalities.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness, implementation feasibility, acceptability, and health economic consequences of S-FAME." This is a prospective experimental design with randomization and a comparison group, making it the highest evidence tier, though results are not yet available.
This is a protocol for a future trial; no results are available. The trial is not yet complete (status ongoing as of April 2026). Implementation in real-world municipal settings may differ from protocol.
