The problem
Intervention: Culturally grounded intervention comprising Pranayama (breathing exercises), Ana Pana Sati meditation, and raga-based music therapy
Who it was tested with: Three tribal young women from Sikkim with dissociative disorders.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Long-form semi-structured follow-up interviews were conducted in 2025" to examine "the lived healing experiences of three young women from Sikkim who had completed a culturally grounded intervention comprising Pranayama, Ana Pana Sati meditation, and raga-based music therapy in 2022." This is a qualitative case study design capturing participants' own accounts of their recovery process, making it practitioner-level evidence reflecting lived experience rather than experimental measurement.
Very small sample (n=3) with no comparison group; interpretative phenomenological design does not establish causation; long gap between intervention (2022) and follow-up (2025) makes attribution difficult; framework proposed from this study has not been independently validated.
