The problem
Intervention: Social support provision to mothers
Who it was tested with: 173 mothers with children in day care centers in Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province, South Korea.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"Social support affected mothers' nurturing attitude, which leads to mothers' nurturing efficacy as one of the mediating variables." This indicates a pathway mechanism but without a control group or longitudinal measurement, the evidence tier is PRACTITIONER rather than experimental.
Cross-sectional design limits causal inference; no comparison group; limited geographic scope to two South Korean provinces; only 173 participants
