The problem
Intervention: Suubi4Her: an evidence-based combination intervention including health education (STI, HIV, pregnancy information), financial literacy, savings activities, and group-based sessions
Who it was tested with: Adolescent girls in Uganda who completed the Suubi4Her intervention trial.
Experience from people who deliver programmes: stories, case studies and lessons learned. Valuable for understanding how and why, and for spotting what to test next, but not a measure of effect.
"We conducted semi-structured in-depth interviews with 25 adolescent girls upon intervention completion to explore their experiences with the Suubi4Her intervention" and "the data were analyzed using thematic analysis." This is a qualitative acceptability study with no control group or outcome measurement, representing practitioner-level evidence of how the intervention was received and experienced.
Study measures acceptability only, not actual behavior change or HIV outcomes. Small sample of 25 completers may not represent all participants or those who dropped out. No comparison group or measurement of intervention effectiveness.
