Intervention: Counseling delivered to female secondary school students about early marriage and pregnancy
Who it was tested with: 63 female students in grade XII at MAN 4 Kab. Tangerang, Indonesia.
Children or communities are compared with a group that did not receive the intervention, or followed over years. This is the design that best separates what the intervention did from everything else that changed.
"Quasi-Experimental Non-Equivalent Pretest And Posttest Control Group" design with "T-Test Dependent test which aims to see the differences in the knowledge of young women in pre and post counseling". The study demonstrates that the counseling intervention caused a measurable improvement in adolescent girls' knowledge about early marriage and early pregnancy compared to their baseline understanding.
The study does not report effect sizes, the magnitude of knowledge gains, or whether improved knowledge translates to changed behaviour or delayed marriage. No follow-up assessment is mentioned.
