In the current media-rich environment, exposure to war and terror often occurs indirectly through various media platforms. While extensive research shows that news media engagement adversely impacts adults' emotional states, the effects on young children remain underexplored. Utilizing a 7-day daily diary design, this study examined the effects of war-related media exposure on parent and child well-being during active regional conflict. Participants were 193 Jewish-Israeli parents (child Mage = 4.53 years, 53.4% girls; parent Mage = 38 years, 51.3% fathers), who provided daily reports on both themselves and their children on war-related media exposure, direct exposure to war, negative affect and parent-child relational strain. Multilevel models revealed that children's higher media exposure was associated with increased negative affect and more parent-child relational strain both at the between-participants and the within-participants levels. The associations between parental media engagement and child negative affect were mediated by parental negative affect and parent-child relational strain. Finally, children's direct exposure and media exposure to war interacted to predict their well-being. These findings underscore the significant role of parent and child media exposure in shaping the emotional climate within families during times of war and related acts of violence.

Prior studies on social disintegration in Indonesia have predominantly examined identity conflict and political polarization, with limited attention to preventive educational interventions at the elementary level, particularly regarding the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program and child well-being. Addressing this gap, this study explores how revitalization of national struggle values through contextual and participatory learning contributes to strengthening students' national spirit in Kendari City elementary schools while supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4). A qualitative interpretive approach was employed, involving 18 informants from three public elementary schools through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using NVivo 14 via inductive thematic analysis. Three principal findings emerged: (1) inquiry-based learning effectively enhances civic literacy and national awareness; (2) integration of historical values with MBG program contexts strengthens children's socio-emotional well-being; and (3) teachers function as value facilitators transforming struggle narratives into tangible social actions. This study contributes to historically grounded character education theory and offers policy implications for elementary curriculum reform responsive to contemporary social disintegration threats in Indonesia.

This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening spiritual values in improving child well-being in early childhood in the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review by examining relevant scientific articles, books, and reports published in the last ten years. The results show that excessive use of digital technology can negatively affect children's emotional and social development, including reduced social interaction and emotional regulation (Twenge & Campbell, 2018). Strengthening spiritual values such as religious habituation, moral education, and emotional awareness can improve children's well-being by fostering emotional stability, positive behavior, and a sense of security (Pandya, 2018). In addition, collaboration between family and educational institutions plays a significant role in implementing spiritual values effectively. Therefore, structured spiritual-based educational strategies are recommended to support children's holistic development in the digital age
Background: Early Childhood Education (ECE) has undergone significant transformation in the digital era due to rapid technological advancement, evolving family dynamics, and increasing attention to inclusive education and child well-being. Despite these developments, existing studies remain fragmented and often fail to integrate cognitive development, digital learning, family influence, inclusive pedagogy, and child well-being within a unified framework. Objective: This study aims to systematically analyze research trends, identify existing research gaps, and explore future directions in ECE in the digital era, with a focus on cognitive development, inclusive pedagogy, family influence, and child well-being. Method: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis was employed using publications indexed in the Scopus database. Relevant articles were identified through a structured keyword search and screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data cleaning was conducted using OpenRefine, while VOSviewer and Biblioshiny were utilized to perform network visualization, thematic mapping, and trend analysis. Results: The findings reveal a notable shift in ECE research from clinically oriented and fragmented approaches toward more integrative and multidisciplinary perspectives. The literature predominantly emphasizes child development, parental involvement, and early intervention. Recent studies increasingly focus on the role of digital technologies in learning environments, particularly in the post-pandemic period. However, technology integration remains insufficiently connected to pedagogical principles. Furthermore, gaps persist in incorporating inclusive education, cultural diversity, and child well-being into digital learning contexts. Conclusion: Advancing ECE in the digital era requires a holistic and integrated approach that combines cognitive and social development, technology-enhanced pedagogy, family and cultural engagement, and child well-being. Such integration is essential for developing adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable early childhood education systems while contributing to educational psychology and child development research.

Family is an institute that nurture the children in its laps in their most delicate time zone and that is their childhood. But, at the same time, this family may become the weird dream of some children when the marriage of the parents collapses due to incompatibilities. As the children were the most delicate bodies in any family institute, so they are the most prone to any psychological, emotional and social setbacks imparted due to the dissolution of their parents’ marriage. The worst among all this is the rat race among the parents after their separation to win their legal custodianship without encompassing the emotional and psychological damage to their children during this journey. The consequences are even worst during cross-border child abduction, where the two states policies may contradict each other thus further delaying the custodian rights process and may increase the sufferings of the children. There is a need to look into the factors that hinder the prompt delivery of the justice to the suffered families and to keep the best interest of the children above all norms. All involved state bodies may be well-equipped to deal with such dilemmas at the earliest to minimize the psychological and emotional and social damage to the children under question. This review will provide an insight into the limitations in the law framework leading to both the international as well as domestic parental child abduction and the improvements that may be adopted to ensure the well-being of the children.
Maternal mental health (MMH) plays a key role in maternal and child health, but is often neglected.Although research shows that children can suffer adverse development if their mothers are psychologically distressed, we still know little from healthcare workers in low- and middle-income countries like Kerala, India. This study explores the views of 22 medical and allied health practitioners in Kerala think about the impact of MMH on children, so that more suited and integrated public health strategies can be created. An exploratory interview style was used withpsychologists, therapists, special educators and rehabilitation specialists. Further core themes were found by conducting thematic analysis according to the method described by Braun and Clarke, using clinical observations, system gaps and policy recommendations as data. Six dominant themes emerged: (1) MMH as foundational to child development, (2) urgent need for early identification and intervention, (3) stigma and lack of awareness as barriers to care, (4) the role of health communication in promoting help-seeking behavior, (5) the necessity of professional mental health support, and (6) inadequacy of current government responses. Notably, 100% of participants affirmed the centrality of MMH to child outcomes, and 95% emphasized the importance of improved health communication. Practitioners unanimously underscored the need to integrate MMH into maternal and pediatric care frameworks. Their insights highlight a pressing call for systemic reform, early screening, and community-based education to ensure holistic, familycentered healthcare delivery in Kerala and similar contexts.

Oral health remains a critical yet overlooked aspect of pediatric health, despite strong evidence linking untreated dental disease with systemic complications, impaired growth, and reduced quality of life. Globally, early childhood caries and related oral conditions affect 60%-90% of children, disproportionately impacting disadvantaged groups. However, pediatric oral health is often siloed from mainstream child health services. Pediatricians, frequently the first point of contact for families, have limited oral health training, while pediatric dentists often see children only when conditions have advanced, reducing opportunities for prevention and early care. Structural barriers-including fragmented professional education, poor referral systems, inadequate insurance, and inconsistent access to preventive services-further limit progress. Families face significant out-of-pocket costs, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where preventive oral care is excluded from many pediatric health packages. Caregiver health literacy and cultural beliefs also contribute to delayed care-seeking. A policy-level response is essential to bridge these gaps. Key strategies include integrating oral health into routine pediatric visits, advancing interprofessional education, expanding insurance coverage for preventive services, and adopting innovative care models such as telehealth and task-shifting. Embedding pediatric oral health into universal health coverage and child health policies will promote equity and sustainability. Urgent systemic reforms are needed to position pediatric oral health as a core component of child well-being, requiring coordinated action among pediatricians, pediatric dentists, and public health policymakers.
