The importance of science literacy in early childhood greatly influences the development of scientific thinking ability. Early childhood is the most critical learning goal that can be done with a student-centered approach to the classroom. This article discusses the needs of science literacy at an early age. Various investigative processes have been carried out by uncovering qualitative methodology. The interview method was conducted to five early childhood teachers. Teknik data analysis using Heurmeutical analysis and Miles and Huberman models. The results showed that early childhood in the application of science literacy as a learning development program in the classroom requires three aspects that need to be considered, namely: attitude, skills, self-competence in children's cognitive ability, and participation in classroom strategies mapped by teachers. While the needs of learning in the classroom are very important to be done as an effort to improve the competence of teachers to the quality of teaching. In the long term, this research has implications in the field of education, namely the development of teacher competencies on the ability to manage science literacy at an early age.

Dynamic education policy and value system can change only with growth and development. This education plays a key role in enhancing about these changes, and the right time to initiate this process of education is better from early childhood. The study explores the issues and challenges of doing early childhood development (ECD) policy for growth of self-regulations along with Sarawakian Primary Schools in Malaysia. Recently the problems of early childhood providing primary schools at Bau district have been starling due to lack of instruments for pre-school services. These issues are now then become more tangled because of its multiracial education policy integration with students’ self-regulations from cultural diversity conditions belonging to variety beliefs and attitudes. Quantitative and qualitative related data were obtained through field observation, interviews and field surveys while secondary data collected from diverse sources. Nearly 57% of the respondents agreed for improvement of ECD policy with sustainable mechanism of monitoring and implementation at each of developmental stages of child. The research has also shown that there are gaps between the aspired and implemented comprehensive education policies for more quality preschool classes and initiatives. The study suggests future research trajectories of a new collaborative alternative dynamic approach to drive the methodological agenda and recommendations on ways to further incorporate the demanding ECD policy instruments towards growth of self-regulations.

Background: Perinatal infections continue to be a major public health problem since they may affect neonatal survival and later neurological development. Infections acquired during pregnancy, labor, delivery or the neonatal period can interfere with normal brain development and increase the risk of cognitive, motor and behavioral impairments in early childhood. Objective: To investigate the association between perinatal infections and their long-term effects on neurological development in early childhood. Methodology: The study is a quantitative cross-sectional study involving 260 mother-child pairs. Data were collected from medical records, neonatal health reports and standardized instruments of neurodevelopmental assessment. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression models were used to assess associations between perinatal infections and neurological outcomes. Findings: Documented exposure to perinatal infections was identified in 21.5% of children. Children exposed to perinatal infections had lower mean neurological development scores (68.7 ± 9.4) than children not exposed (84.9 ± 8.1). Also, 24.2% of exposed children had developmental delays. The statistical analysis revealed a significant negative association between perinatal infections and neurological development outcomes (r = -0.61, p < 0.001). Conclusion: Perinatal infections are a significant risk factor for adverse neurologic outcomes in early childhood. Early diagnosis, infection prevention strategies and prompt clinical interventions may mitigate developmental risks and improve long-term neurological health outcomes in children.

Play-based learning is widely recognized as a cornerstone of effective early childhood education, supporting children’s cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical development. In public kindergarten classrooms, particularly in developing contexts, the implementation of play-based approaches is shaped by curricular expectations, classroom realities, and teacher practices. This study examined the extent of play-based learning and its influence on early childhood development in kindergarten classrooms at Dadap Elementary School. Using a convergent mixed-methods design, data were collected through classroom observations, early childhood development surveys, and semi-structured teacher interviews. Quantitative findings indicated that play-based learning activities were moderately to highly implemented and were strongly associated with learners’ socio-emotional and behavioral development, with moderate effects on cognitive development. Qualitative findings revealed that structured play, teacher scaffolding, and interactive activities supported holistic development, while constraints such as class size and time limitations influenced instructional choices. The study highlights the importance of sustaining developmentally appropriate, play-based pedagogy in public kindergarten classrooms to enhance early childhood development.
