Dieser Artikel der Zeitschrift Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation. verfolgt das Ziel strukturelle Veränderungen und deren Determinanten in Organisationen der frühen Bildung und Erziehung zu identifizieren. In einem weiteren Schritt soll aufgezeigt werden, welche Herausforderungen für Kita-Träger mit Veränderungen der Umwelt verbunden sind und wie diese Veränderungen in der Praxis vollzogen werden. Das Forschungsprojekt TrEiKo geht diesen Fragen auf Basis eines Mixed-Methods-Designs nach. Die Analysen zeigen, dass Kita-Träger vor vielfältigen Herausforderungen stehen, sich aber durch ein vergleichsweise geringes Maß an aktiver Gestaltung bzw. Entwicklungssteuerung auszeichnen.
