Summary
Written by AI, not yet AICS's view · claude-haiku-4-5-20251001This study examined whether student motivation and interest in learning influence academic outcomes in physical education and health (PJOK) classes at an Indonesian elementary school. Researchers used questionnaires to measure motivation and interest, and skill scores to measure learning outcomes, with 30 students total. The study found a positive relationship between motivation and interest on the one hand and PJOK learning outcomes on the other.
Key points
- The study used correlational research with multiple regression analysis
- Sample included 30 elementary school students (15 male, 15 female)
- Data on motivation and interest were collected via questionnaire
- Learning outcomes were measured using skill scores in PJOK subjects
- Results showed motivation and interest have positive influence on learning outcomes
Limitations
This is a small-scale correlational study that does not establish causation or test an intervention. The findings cannot explain why or how motivation and interest influence outcomes, nor can they be generalised beyond this single school.
Abstract
Learning outcomes have an important role in the learning process. This is because learning outcomes can be used as a benchmark to find out how far changes in students after receiving their learning experience can be observed and measured in the form of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of motivation to learn and interest in learning on the learning outcomes of PJOK subjects. This study uses a type of correlational research with multiple regression techniques. This research was conducted at SDN 4 Dauhwaru with a total sample of 30 people consisting of 15 students and 15 female students. Data collection techniques for the level of motivation and interest in learning in this study used a questionnaire while the learning outcomes used skill scores in PJOK subjects. The results of this study are that motivation and interest in learning have a positive influence on learning outcomes in PJOK subjects.
