Summary
Written by AI, not yet AICS's view · claude-haiku-4-5-20251001This paper presents a methodological approach for calculating a composite child well-being index across Russian regions using a threshold aggregation model. The researchers analyzed socioeconomic factors affecting children and families to identify regional trends. The study involved collaboration between economists, sociologists, mathematicians, IT specialists and practitioners, with results presented in tables and digital cartograms. The work addresses the need for comprehensive assessment tools to guide policy recommendations for improving child well-being.
Key points
- The study uses a threshold indicator aggregation model to estimate child well-being indices
- Analysis was conducted across multiple subjects (regions) of the Russian Federation
- The approach integrates socioeconomic indicators affecting children and families
- Results were presented using both tabular data and digital cartograms
- The study involved an interdisciplinary team across multiple professional fields
Limitations
The document is a methodological paper that does not provide detailed results or evidence of which specific socioeconomic factors most influence child well-being, nor does it evaluate the effectiveness of any interventions. The abstract does not contain sufficient information about specific findings, regional variations, or recommendations for policy.
Abstract
Abstract A comprehensive study of socioeconomic factors affecting the situation of children and families with children in the subjects of RF is a social requirement and an important scientific problem. For these purposes, it is customary to use integral (composite) indices that aggregate the relevant indicators. A retrospective regional analysis of the indices is essential to identify trends and to offer recommendations for improving the well-being of children. In the paper, a method for estimating the child well-being index based on the threshold indicator aggregation model is considered. The results of the experiments are presented by the tables and on a digital cartogram. The study is interdisciplinary in nature with the participation economists, sociologists, mathematicians, IT specialists and practitioners.
