Summary
Written by AI, not yet AICS's view · claude-haiku-4-5-20251001This study develops a method to measure child well-being across different regions of Russia using a threshold aggregation model. The researchers created a composite index to assess socioeconomic factors that affect children and families in various constituent entities of Russia. The approach presents three different methods for ranking indicators and applies them to create regional comparisons shown on a map of Russia.
Key points
- The study addresses child well-being as a multidimensional concept affected by socioeconomic factors
- A threshold indicator aggregation model was used to construct the well-being index
- Three different ranking methods for indicators were tested
- Results were presented as a cartogram showing variation across Russian regions
Limitations
The document is an abstract that does not specify which indicators were included in the index, what the actual findings were across regions, or how the method was validated. It provides no information about data sources, sample sizes, or practical implications of the results.
Abstract
A comprehensive study of socioeconomic factors affecting the situation of children and families with children in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is a social requirement and an important scientific problem. In this paper, a method for estimating the child well-being index based on the threshold indicator aggregation model is considered. Three ways of ranking the indicators are presented. The results of the pilot experiments are shown in the cartogram of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
