Summary
Written by AI, not yet AICS's view · claude-haiku-4-5-20251001This study examines how Aisyiyah, an Islamic women's organization in Medan City, Indonesia, uses religious education and community engagement to raise awareness about violence against children. The organization uses three main strategies: routine religious recitations to teach Islamic values, school-based socialization programs, and community complaint forums for reporting violence cases. The approach combines education, communication, and community participation to build public awareness and create safer environments for children.
Key points
- Aisyiyah uses routine recitation (religious study circles) as a medium for teaching Islamic values related to child protection
- The organization conducts socialization programs in Muhammadiyah schools to instill awareness about violence against children
- Community complaint forums serve dual purposes as spaces for reporting violence cases and advocacy
- The da'wah strategy employs educational, communicative, and participatory approaches
- The initiative aims to build public awareness and create child-friendly environments in Medan City
Limitations
This study describes organizational strategies but does not measure whether these strategies actually reduce violence against children or change public behavior. The qualitative design does not provide evidence of effectiveness or reach, so we cannot know how many children or communities were affected.
